Mr Anthony Kennedy OAM KHS KLJ OMLJ – Chairman of the Board
Mr Kennedy was appointed to the foundation in 2017. He has over 20 years of experience in economic development with the Victorian Government and 12 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector. He is currently the Chairman of Green Cross Project Inc and is Secretary of the Victorian Commandery, Order of Saint Lazarus. In 2019, Mr Kennedy was awarded a medal in the Order of Australia for service to the community through a range of organisations and in late 2021 he was appointed the Chairman of the OLJ Australia Foundation

Mr Joe Thorp KLJ – Foundation Secretary
Following an extensive career in international manufacturing and distribution, Joe is a company director and advisor. He serves the Diocese of Adelaide as Registrar and Secretary of Synod, is Chair of the State Theatre Company of South Australia, Director of the National Film & Sound Archive of Australia, Director of Anglican Representative (National Redress Scheme) Limited, Director of Anglican Funds Management, Trustee of The Leigh Trust, Member of Anglicare SA Governance & Nominations Committee, and Member of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia.
Joe was formerly Chairman of Governors of St Peter’s College, Chair of Guide Dogs SANT, Director of Guide Dogs Australia and Member of the Adelaide Advisory Board of Oz Harvest. Joe is Marshal of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem Grand Priory of Australia and past President of the South Australian Commandery.
Dr John Donovan ED KLJ CMLJ – Treasurer
Dr Donovan has been Treasurer of the Foundation since June 2022. He joined the Order of St Lazarus in 1991 and has been President of the ACT Commandery from 2005-08 and again since 2022, and National Almoner from 2016-2022.
He has been President of the ACT Branch of the AMA, an elected member of the ACT Medical Board for 9 years, and a Councillor of Canberra Church of England Girls Grammar School, also for 9 years. Currently, he is also President of the Probus Club of Canberra.
Mr Richard Pringle-Jones KLJ – Board Member
Richard is a former President of the Tasmanian Commandery Order of Saint Lazarus, a former Chairman of Hutchins Anglican Boys School, Hobart Stock Exchange, National Heart Foundation and the Institute of Company Directors.
Richard is also a former Director of the Hobart Stock Exchange, State manager of J B Were, and former Trustee of the Diocese of Tasmania. Richard is also a long-term resident of Tasmania.
Mr Kevin Edwards AM KLJ OMLJ – Board Member
Mr Kevin Edwards is a retired lawyer with over 56 years of experience in the law. Having had various roles with firms such as Minter Ellison and Warren Syminton Ralph. Kevin has held various positions within the not-for-profit sector, too, including organisations such as the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia, the Public Notaries Society of Western Australia, Catholic Homes and the Western Australian Football Commission.
Kevin was the Western Australian Commandery President from 2011 to 2017 and was made a member of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for significant service to the legal profession, aged care, and sporting organisations.
Mr Peter Whatson OLJ – Board Member
Peter is a seasoned Litigation, Commercial, and Property lawyer with a specialisation in Local Government. He has extensive experience advising on tendering, contract management, infrastructure, leasing, and land services, having worked with top Adelaide firms and the Australian Government Solicitor. Since founding his own practice in 2013, he has continued to serve both public and private sector clients. Peter joined the SOS Children’s Villages Australia board in 2017, becoming Treasurer and Chairman in 2018, and played a key role in overseeing major renovations of the camp facilities from 2019 to 2021.
